CSR Strategy

Building a sustainable future

Our daily practices are guided by a strong commitment: to ensure a safer future for all and to protect what we hold most dear. That’s why sustainability is at the heart of our strategy – it’s the compass that guides every decision we make.

Protecting the essentials

Because of our presence all over the world, as well as our anchoring in the territories, it is our duty – to use the words pronounced at the United Nations General Assembly in 1987 – to ” meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs “.

In the face of the environmental and societal challenges we face, our commitment goes far beyond a fair balance between what we collect and the preservation of our planet: every action we take is part of an ambitious sustainability strategy.

Three pillars to formalize our actions

Adopted by the Member States of the United Nations in 2015, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have one goal: to make the world a better place by making sustainable development, security and equality the drivers of every decision.

At Terresis, we are committed to this path through 3 pillars that structure each of our actions:

Turning challenges into opportunities

At Terresis, we have chosen to combine our talents and collective expertise to protect what really matters. A commitment that is reflected in the creation of a team dedicated exclusively to sustainable development: created in 2024, it aims to be multicultural, multifunctional in order to reconcile a cross-functional vision and an international dimension on each subject. It also allows us to stay one step ahead in the face of increasingly demanding regulations.

True to our DNA, our strategy is based on actively listening to our local communities and preserving biodiversity. We work daily to create shared value and strive to go beyond regulatory requirements to protect the wealth of our territories. Jorge Baños – Director of Sustainable Development.

On the way to Decarbonization

We recognize the challenge we face: Magnesia  – an essential resource for many applications but also a critical material – plays a key role and raises important environmental questions. Its production generates CO2 emissions, both in terms of the fuels used in the production process and during the chemical reaction of the process.

With conviction, we are working on two axes to significantly reduce these emissions: carbon dioxide capture and the use of renewable fuels, in particular the massive use of local biomass.
