XP Mag is a family of inorganic shrinkage-compensating admixtures engineered to enhance the performance of cementitious materials. By compensating shrinkage, XP Mag helps reduce the potential for cracking and curling, resulting in more durable and dimensionally stable concrete and mortar systems.
The XP MAG range can be used in a wide range of cementitious formulations to produce mortars and concretes. It is used in formulations of:
XP MAG 100 is used at a dosage of 3% to 6% of the weight of the cement (i.e. 3 to 6 kg per 100 kg of cement).
The amount to be used should be determined according to the level of compensation for the desired shrinkage in the mortar or concrete.
The effectiveness of shrinkage compensation depends on several factors: the dosage of XP MAG, the water/cement ratio, the water environment, and the type and content of the cement. Performance is also influenced by the mixing time, temperature, and curing method and duration. Part of this reaction occurs when the mixture is still in a plastic state. For this reason, the amount of XP MAG to be used should be tested beforehand, taking into account the mentioned factors.
