Action Plan

Acting for the planet and its inhabitants

Our CSR strategy aims to adopt a responsible approach at all levels – for biodiversity, local communities and territories. In addition to giving meaning to each of our missions, it is embodied concretely through initiatives and actions that contribute to the preservation of the environment, well-being and social equity

Preserving the environment

Terresis is committed to decarbonization through the implementation of innovative solutions. Thanks to the mobilization of our teams, we transform each challenge into a great opportunity to design a future where performance and sustainability coexist. This is evidenced by the use of local biomass – a renewable fuel – for our Brazilian ovens. A solution that greatly reduces our climate impact.

In Spain, we have made biodiversity a major issue. Our support for the Natura 2000 network, as well as the sharing of our knowledge on the restoration of exploited areas, contributes to the preservation of habitats and endangered species.

Supporting local communities

Terresis is an international company with a strong connection to local people. We have always been committed to communities and local actors to strengthen living and health conditions.

In Brazil, the use of biomass, mainly made up of local cashew nut shells, goes beyond environmental issues alone: it is an important source of additional income for producers in the region. In partnership with the local government, we also offer training programs for our employees so that they can graduate and access more skilled employment.

At the same time, we strive to improve access to care through the organization of medical consultations and the planning of awareness campaigns among the local population on health issues.

Contributing to the development of territories

Deeply rooted in the regions where our mines and factories are located, we are committed to sustainable development that benefits everyone, at all levels. This includes supporting the local economy and the preservation of ecosystems, but also by committing to local sports organisations: in Spain, Terresis is a partner of the Miguel Indurain Foundation, which fights against discrimination in sport, the local futsal team and events promoting Basque pelota.

Measuring the impact of our actions

To measure the positive changes we bring to communities and territories, we use a powerful tool: Social Return on Investment (SROI). This measures the social, economic and environmental value in relation to the resources invested. The results obtained show an increasingly positive impact over the years: it encourages us to continue our commitments to local communities and their well-being.
