Our innovation strategy
Supporting responsible innovation
Explorer of all possibilities, we innovate with a major ambition: to reconcile performance and responsible sustainability to preserve magnesia – a fundamental resource – and design a sustainable future.
Continuous research for a sustainable future
Now a recognized expert in four application areas – agricultural, refractory, industrial minerals and the environment – we believe in a world where rigorous scientific research and bold innovation reveal new possibilities for magnesia use every day ; paving the way for revolutionary solutions in nutrition, refractory, industry, construction and beyond.
Because we want to push the boundaries and offer ever more qualitative and efficient products, each of our fields of application benefits from its own R&D department.
At Terresis, R&D is much more than an innovation accelerator. It is a place where our researchers, technicians and engineers aspire to become pioneers in the development of ever more responsible solutions. Because they see technological advances as means and not ends, our talents participate every day in reinventing the way the world uses magnesia.
Exceptional scientific, technical and human resources
Thanks to the interdisciplinary collaboration and strength of the Groupe Roullier, there are many fruitful partnerships. Universities, scientific laboratories, INRA, University of Navarra, Technical University of Denmark, University of Lavaras… These exchanges allow us to track magnesia as closely as possible and develop solutions that push the boundaries of what this resource can accomplish.
Magnesium reagents in processes, magnesia in formulas… For each of our fields of application, our innovation strategy is based on a detailed understanding of the needs in the field.

The Centre Mondial de l’Innovation Roullier, a driver of excellence and growth
For over 60 years, the Groupe Roullier has made innovation and continuous improvement its daily challenge. Its quest for performance took shape in 2015 with the creation of the Centre Mondial de l’Innovation Roullier (CMI), a unique private interdisciplinary research center built on a collaborative model. It aggregates the R&D services of its subsidiaries and hundreds of researchers operating in Saint-Malo or through more than a hundred university partnerships internationally. This exceptional ecosystem, closely connected to real-world conditions via the Group’s activities, anticipates agricultural, regulatory, and scientific developments to prepare the agriculture of tomorrow. Its goal: to develop radically innovative agronomic and zootechnical solutions as the foundation of sustainable agriculture, where agricultural performance, environmental respect, and high added value are combined.
Complementary to the CMI, the Groupe Roullier‘s pilot plant offers the possibility of studying the feasibility of projects on an industrial scale.
