XP MAG

The sustainable solution against concrete shrinkage and cracking

XP MAG is a range of powdered shrinkage compensating admixtures to be added to the other components of a cementitious mixture. XP MAG is a blend of inorganic compounds, designed to reduce shrinkage at a young age, cracking and warping.

The + products

  • Reduces maintenance costs
  • Reduces warping and allows for increased joint spacing.
  • Significantly reduces the risk of cracking
  • Significantly improves waterproofing

Areas of application:

The XP MAG range can be used in a wide range of cementitious formulations to produce mortars and concretes. It is used in formulations of:

  • Mortars and screeds (repair mortar, self-leveling screed, underlayment, overlayment, low-shrinkage grout, etc.)
  • Concrete (especially slabs, screeds, and heavily constrained structures)
  • Waterproof concrete (tanks, wastewater treatment plants, dams, etc.)
  • Raised slabs and platforms (car parks, ground slabs)
  • Airport runways and roadways
  • Architectural Concrete
  • Shotcrete

Dosage

XP MAG 100 is used at a dosage of 3% to 6% of the weight of the cement (i.e. 3 to 6 kg per 100 kg of cement).

Counsel

The amount to be used should be determined according to the level of compensation for the desired shrinkage in the mortar or concrete.

The effectiveness of shrinkage compensation depends on several factors: the dosage of XP MAG, the water/cement ratio, the water environment, and the type and content of the cement. Performance is also influenced by the mixing time, temperature, and curing method and duration. Part of this reaction occurs when the mixture is still in a plastic state. For this reason, the amount of XP MAG to be used should be tested beforehand, taking into account the mentioned factors.
